Feburary 6th, O.P. XXIII
HISTORY REPEATS ITSELF
Sirrah Adder announced in Court this e'en that his family was starting a
mercenary school in Lankhmar.  No word on whether they had the
Sovereign's permission to do so; only time will tell if it ends up like
Mordecaii's school.

THE JOB FAIR CONTINUES
Several people came into Court this e'en looking for work.  The first was
a warrior and ex-student of Mordecaii's school named Reyn.  Next was
Uhhh, who had returned to ask about the Sexecutioner position; Queen
Flidais made the appointment official.  Finally there was Sir Peter of
Equitor.  Arthur D. Great was also in attendance, but he had already
found a job taking notes for Joosee Roomers.

A THREAT AND A SHADOW
Queen Flidais received an anonymous missive this e'en warning her about
tigers and saying that Shadowcast had returned.  the demon-dragon
imprisoned beneath Kel Redgaard de Koros had gone into a deep slumber after Paladin Aeric collapsed an escape tunnel its minions had been digging in Ahrothen over a year ago, and this is the first word that the Companions have received from the creature.  As the sworn enemy of the
Caerna clan, Shadowcast has a lot of catching up to do if it hopes to make the Caerna Queen's life miserable.

BARBERSHOP QUARTET
Sir Ender arrived in festive garb this e'en; with him were three of his fellow singers.  They proceeded to entertain the Court with a number of songs from their new program.  Huzzah!

ENDER TELLS ALL
At the "request" of Queen Flidais, Sir Ender explained his long absense.
As a result of the quest given to him by the Pendragon last year, Sir Ender's long-missing memories were returned to him.  It seems that Sir
Ender was originally from another country, where he had/has a wife prior
to coming to Warwick.  The queen annulled her marriage to the Grand
Knight on the spot and told him to get his things out of the castle; a place fitting for someone of his rank would be appropriated for him.  Upset and humiliated, Sir Ender fled the Courtroom before anything could be made final.

REVOLVING DOOR DUNGEON
Once again, a prisoner of the Sheriff has escaped the most secure prison
in the realm.  The individual who was impersonating Sirrah Valric the past two weeks, and who was apparently stealing memories from him and
other people in the lands, escaped Saturday e'en with a little help from his friends.  A guard on duty during the breakout reported seeing a woman in white who froze him and his fellow guards in place while unlocking the cell door and escorting the prisoner to freedom.

ENTER...THE TIMEANOIDS!
Lacon Vox visited the Court this e'en, along with a woman in white and
Sirrah Valric??  He introduced the woman as Lady Edea, Prime of the Order of Chronomancers, also known as the Timeanoids.  Queen Flidais
immediately ordered the lady arrested, but when Paladin Aeric got up to
do so, he was frozen in place by her.  After briefly threatening to remove his memories of attaining first-level Michael, she (at the "suggestion" of Lacon) had him sit back down as if rewinding time itself.  All very bizarre.  Lacon had apparently taken advantage of Valric's missing memories to convince him that the Companions were trying to trick him or something.  There was an offer of a service, a gift to the Court, but they asked for a certain sword in exchange for this service, so the answer (for now, at least) was "no deal."  The trio left without any further trouble.  After their departure, Paladin Aeric vehemently swore that he would do whatever it takes to stop the current trend of enemies walking all over the Companions as if they were powerless.

SWORD SNATCHING ATTEMPT FAILS
Duke Lorath reported this e'en that the "meteoric iron" sword left in Court last week by Ambassador Kendral was almost stolen by parties unknown.  Apparently the metalurgy lab it was being examined at was
attacked and the metallurgists killed, but luckily the sword itself was safely hidden away at the time.  However, all of the research notes were stolen or otherwise destroyed.

MORDECAII IS DEAD...AGAIN....
Paladin Aeric received word from one of his men this e'en that Sir Marduk had slain Mordecaii using the deadly-to-Companions dragon extract oil.
The oil is currently hidden in a secret location known only to the queen,
the sheriff, and the deputy.  Paladin Aeric vouched for Sir Marduk, saying that he trusted the man implicitly and that he was sure that Sir Marduk had good reason to do what he did.

JACK AND JULES
A dramatic story came to Court this e'en by way of two Lankhmarian
regulars: Jack, a soldier in the Lankhmar Guard, and Jules, a mercenary
marine serving on board a merchant ship.  Together, they recounted a
story of how a force sounding quite similar to the one which broke into
the prison and killed Vivek last season attacked and boarded Ambassador Kendral's ship in the harbor.  Various magics and giant weapons (wielded by giant warriors) were used in the fight.  In the end, one of the piers
was destroyed and there was lots of collateral damage to at least one
other ship (Jule's) in the harbor.  The attackers disappeared and Kendral's ship limped away, followed by a portion of the Warwickian Navy.  Jules also reported that several body parts of a golem-like nature were found in the aftermath of the battle; Duke Lorath asked that those parts be brought to him immediately.  Also interesting to note is the fact that Jack could not remember some of the battle.  Could the force that attacked the ship be a combination force of golems and Timeanoids?

RING OF FIRE
In a possibly-related story, Lord Paladin Galchauren reported that a
plume of fire had been seen out at sea, three days to the east of Warwick.  Sailors are advised to avoid the area if possible until an investigation as to the cause of the explosion can be started.

CITADEL STAFF QUESTIONED
Dagoth Or returned to Court this e'en, insisting that Vivek's staff was
in the Courtroom recently and demanding that everyone in the room strip
to prove that they were not hiding it from him.  In return, Paladin Aeric
reminded the wizard that he was giving him his complete cooperation in
the search for the staff and suggested that he be a little more polite
when dealing with the Companions.  As expected, it fell on deaf ears.
Seemingly satisfied that none of the Companions had the staff hidden in
their pants, Dagoth was escorted from the room by Paladin Aeric, who
assured him that all the guards and servants in the Citadel would be
questioned about the matter.

IAGONDOLS BRING DRINKS TO COURT.
IN OTHER NEWS: SKY IS BLUE
There was a large influx of IaGondols to Court this e'en, including the
long absent Endraneth and the mostly-absent Antwon.  They had with them a large number of bottles which were quickly emptied by the Companions.  Endraneth passed her Gondol cloak on to Damsel Mikayla, and later in the e'en, they all sang a merry song for the Court.  Huzzah!

VAMPIRE VISITOR
An emissary from the vampire kingdom to the South of Warwick visited the Court this e'en at the request of Paladin Aeric and Sir Marduk.  He told the Companions that his people had found a way to overcome the natural bloodlust of vampires, and that he had been asked to come to Warwick to instruct Sirrah Nazgul in their ways.  He explained that an alchemic mixture satisfied the vampire's biological need for blood, but the lust to kill would remain and eventually overpower the vampire unless he could master it.  He also told the Companions that, should Nazgul refuse to learn how to control his urges, or be unable to do so, that he should be
killed to prevent tragedy.  Queen Flidais did not necessarily agree with
the vampire lord's asessment of the situation, but advised him to seek
out Nazgul with Lord Palpatine, as the two spend much time together.
Ohmuhlourd F-f-f-fritz agreed to show him where they could be found,
while Lady Moira offered him a place to stay during his time in Cumbria.

As a final note to the Court, Lord Camerus stated that his kingdom was
aware of the vampire lord Cimmeroc and that he was growing in power with every day--and every lesser vampire he created.  As Cimmeroc is an old enemy of the Court, as well as the vampire who turned Nazgul, this is of particular concern to the Companions.

THE MEERD CONNECTION
Lady Moira reported that as a result of her research she felt that Meerd,
the odd mimicing character who had come to Court several times, was
reponsible for taking Sirrah Valric's memories.  She also reported that
Meerd had a device in his hand similar to the Valric impostor who was
arrested and later escaped.  Could Meerd have been a Timeanoid?  Lady Moira thinks that Valric's memories are still in that device and hopes to
convince Meerd to either give the memories back or to allow copies of
them to be returned.

ASSASSINS FOILED; PLOT REVEALED
Ohmahlourd F-f-f-fritz told the Court this e'en that he was attacked by
an assassin using some of the dragon oil extract.  He also produced a bag
which contained something that belonged to the assassin.  When the queen opened the bag, she found the assassin's head inside.  Ohmahlourd F-f-f-
fritz then revealed that Queen Flidais was actually Empress Flidais from
the alternate dimension Marduk had been rescued from last year!  The
impostor freely admitted that she was the empress.  F-f-f-fritz went on
to explain that Sir Marduk had killed Sir Mordecaii on the impostor's
orders, and that the Mikayla that tried to assassinate the duke was also
from the alternate dimension.  F-f-f-fritz had uncovered the empress'
plot to take over Warwick, and so his became the first name on a hit list
of Companions, including the duke's.  Using his sister-in-law Cecily's
connection with Death, F-f-f-fritz was able to switch the fake Mikayla
back with the real Mikayla.  Death apparently said that he would switch
the queens, but after that there would be no "freebies."  On the order of
Duke Lorath, Empress Flidais was taken into custody by Paladin Aeric.
