THE RETURN OF THE QUEEN
Queen Flidais made her triumphant return to the Court of Light this
e'en. She made no explanation for her absense, nor did she offer
any stories of her time in the "other" Warwick. What she did do is
place a price (300 marques to be exact) on the head of her evil counterpart
from the "other" Warwick. As no sure way is known of travelling to
that realm, it is unknown if the bounty will ever be collected.
LADY OF THE LAC SEEKS ADDLED DAUGHTER
A visitor to the Court this e'en, one Lady Brigitte DuLac, came in
search of her insane daughter Adameyr. She explained that her late
husband was one of the mages killed in the Kel Corice explosion last year,
and that he had entrusted some great secret to their daughter, something
that was going to be a gift to the Court. He did this, confident
in her inability to share that secret with anyone else, but was killed
before he could retrieve it from her mind. Adameyr has been missing
for two months now; she is described as being in her early twenties, a
tall shapely blonde very similar in appearance to her mother. Duke
Lorath and Paladin Aeric seemed to recall someone fitting that appearance--and
sharing the same strange mannerisms as described by Lady Brigitte--visiting
the Court a week or so ago. The queen assured the distraught mother
that steps would be taken to find her errant daughter.
DUKE INSULTS WANDERING KNIGHT, IS KILLED
Sir Ector (no relation), a wandering knight, challenged the duke for
suggesting that he was a miscreant. Duke Lorath, who was running
Court
last week in the absence of the queen, had refused to allow the knight
entrance, stating that there had been too much trouble with observers
lately. After Court, the duke met the insulted knight on the challenge
field, where he promptly dropped with swords and allowed himself to
be
slain by the knight. Sir Ector was in turn challenged by Duke
Lorath for
questioning his right to run Court. Ector pulled the same damn
thing.
NEW PERCIVAL KNIGHT
Mikayla was knighted this e'en as a member of the Order of Prince Percival.
Congratulations!
ZIRCHIR
Richard of Zirchir appeared after a long absence to inquire about possible
reparation for the defeat of his "army" last year at the hands of the Warwickian
Army. He was given a stern dressing-down by Queen Flidais, and then
he left.
THE ISLAND OF DON'T-GO-THERE
A sailor by the name of Andrew Robinson appeared in Court this e'en,
to
tell a tale of a strange island protected by large amounts of sea creatures.
The climax of his tale came in the form of a fifty-foot long tentacle which
destroyed the ship he was on. He was the only survivor of the wreck,
and he claimed that he could hear the screams of many of his shipmates
as they met some new horror while trying to swim towards the island.
He wisely swam in the opposite direction. The exact location of the
island could not be determined, but it sounded an awful lot like the location
of the volcanic island that recently appeared three days to the east of
Warwick. As always, ships are encouraged to avoid the area, even
though no one can actually tell us where the area we are supposed to avoid
is....
NAVAL REVIEW
A Morris from Lyonesse came to the Court angrily demanding backup,
apparently forgetting in his haste that his is a conquered nation and
is in no position to demand anything. He reported that the enormous
fleet
reported to be heading our way from the north simply passed on by,
continuing south to parts unknown.
FORMER PAGES GET NAKED! IN OTHER NEWS, WATER IS WET
The Fortune's Folly page class presented their fund-raising auction
this e'en. Many wonderful items and services were presented for sale,
and a
good amount of money was raised by them. Huzzah!
VALRIC GETS A NEW HAT
Sirrah Valric returned to Court this e'en in complete command of his
faculties. He apologized to the Court for his earlier behavior,
explained that Lacon returned his memories to him as a gesture of goodwill
but failed to edit out the part where he was the one responsible for taking
them away in the first place, and presented the queen with Lacon's hat
as proof(?) of his death.
ONE HELL OF A POEM
Damsel Duck presented a poem this e'en as part of her quest for first
level Percival. The subject of the poem was the quest that she and
her page-
siblings embarked upon prior to their squiring.
SWORD-SNATCHING ATTEMPT FAILS 2
Duke Lorath reported that about forty semi-golemlike creatures came
to
his abode in another attempt to steal the meteoric iron sword left
behind
by Ambassador Kendral. He told the Court how he used the sword
to defeat the would-be sword-nappers; their leader stayed in the background
and left once all of his(?) minions had been destroyed. Queen Flidais
enigmatically revealed that it was her evil counterpart that was after
the sword.
ADDER SCHOOL FOR MERCENARIES BURNS DOWN
Sirrah Adder reported that the school for mercenaries that his family
was
building in Lankhmar had been burned to the ground. Also, his
brother
Grey was killed in the fire. No news on whether or not this fire
was set on purpose or just another instance of bad fire coding in the Shire.
SYMMAROK DROPS NOTES IN HALLWAY
Lord Ptolomei revealed to the Court that he had found one of Lady Moira's
old charms against the vampire Symmarok on the floor in the Citadel hall-
way earlier that e'en. There was a note attached which read:
"you might be needing this." As Lord Camerus (a friendly vampire)
told the Court during his visit a few weeks ago, Symmarok is rising in
power again.
BLUE MAN GROUP RETURNS
Sirrah Vox came into Court with some distressing news this e'en.
He
claimed that the so-called "blue dimension" that was causing Warwick
so
much trouble last year was about to collide with our own dimension.
This
collision was going to take place in about 45 seconds, he said.
It didn't. Or...did it...?
MARRIAGE ANULLED...AGAIN....
Now that the real Flidais was back on the throne of Warwick, our hapless
Grand Knight got to go through the torturous process of telling her
about
his (other) wife and child. Again. Just as the evil empress
had done some weeks before, Queen Flidais anulled her marriage to Sir Ender.
Again. |
