LOST AND FOUND
By way of an opening tale, Paladin Aeric announced that he and his
men were able to track down the thieves who have been spiriting away various
items of the Companions these past couple of weeks. The three rogues
were found boldly selling their ill-gotten wares in a market in Cumbria;
they were apprehended by the Sheriff and his men, but chose to end their
own lives rather than being caught. All of the missing items (save
for Dame Mikayla's ale, which was all but consumed by the thieves) were
returned to their rightful owners this week.
SOMETIMES THEY COME BACK...AGAIN...
Duke Lorath reported that Sir Mordecaii was apprehended this weekend
on a killing spree in Southern Windsor. Upon closer examination,
it was determined that Mordecaii was under the influence of the evil entity
responsible for the skeleton army currently south of Warwick. Among
those that were killed by the Companion was the man in charge of the skeleton
army; the mirror long thought to be the source of his power was destroyed
in the attack. The skeletons themselves are reportedly in disarray
as a result.
As it was recalled that Mordecaii swore to "do something" to prove to
the Court that he was of the Light when he returned to Court several weeks
ago, it is postulated that he went to the necromancer's school to clean
house, instead becoming possessed by evil.
Lady Moira, who was called by Duke Lorath to handle the situation, reported
that Mordecaii seemed to have a "hole in his soul" which was at that time
filled by the darkness in question. Fearing for the continued existence
of Sir Mordecaii, Lady Moira used her healing magic to remove the darkness
from the Companion, causing him to dematerialize on the spot. It
is currently unknown what, if any, effect this had on Mordecaii, but Marquessa
Catalyn did report feeling a weakening in her clan-brother's spirit when
it happened.
OPERATION: PERN FREEDOM
Paladin Aeric announced to the Court that his forces in Keltian, in
addition to the forces of the Free Company and the alchemical golems he
had created, were ready to invade Pern on the command of the Queen.
RAW DEAL
Queen Flidais reported being approached by a renegade from the so-called
Silver Sword people in Lankhmar this week, and was offered the alliance
of 1/8th of their forces in return for being allowed to rule the island
currently being used as a base for the Silver Sword people once they were
defeated. No word yet as to whether or not the Queen will accept
this offer.
In related news, the Silver Sword people are apparently sending an ambassador
to Warwick next week to discuss the possibility of our surrender.
ANY PORT IN A STORM
Lankhmar Harbor is currently being repaired by volunteer engineers
from the island of Wiltshire. In addition to the mundane repairs,
two of the ships sunken in the attack have been raised and are being repaired
and refitted, and fire-throwing siege weaponry is being installed for the
future defense of the harbor.
THERE IS WATER AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN
Paladin Aeric announced that he has bought the former Aquitanian Embassy
and is transforming it into a war memorial and museum. As a part
of the grand opening festivities, he has decided to hold a masquerade ball
on the premises, complete with food, drink, music, and entertainment.
This masquerade, whose theme is "Enchantment Under the Sea," is to be held
on Saturday, May 5th, at 8 in the evening. All Companions are invited
to attend.
ONE HELL OF A NIGHT
The Forsaken Pages recalled to the Court the story of their quest to
reclaim the soul of Xirlyndrae, the Court Sword. The new squires
continued by announcing their various ambitions for knightly or druinic
orders: Alana declared for Dinidan, Kao for Raphael, and Zhuge for Gawaine.
Best of luck to all!
"I AM THE PAST COME BACK TO HAUNT YOU!"
A mysterious, cowled monk from Allamar visited the Court this e'en
in search of the rogue Companion Valric, who apparently was a former resident
of the monestary. According to the monk , Valric had a troubled and
violent past prior to coming to the monestary, and he was there to check
up on him.
However, when the timeanoid Meerd came into Court to visit, the monk
revealed himself to be Valric, who demanded that Meerd return the one piece
of missing time that he had yet to return. Meerd did so, and Valric
returned to what appeared to be normal. He then told the Court the
story of how he was once the enforcer for a crime boss named Van Orten,
whom he eventually betrayed and killed, and how he went to the Allamar
monestary to repent for his sins afterward. The monks sent him to
Warwick, saying that he still had work to do.
According to Sirrah Valric, Lacon Vox is taking the children of the
occupied lands to an island in the north and replacing them with golem
copies. Apparently Lacon is staging a coup of some kind in the island
nation of Vox, although it is unknown what part, if any, this replacement
serves in that operation.
OUT OF TIME
Both Meerd and the once-renegade Time Lord known as Sin reported to
the Court that the timeanoid alliance with Lacon was over. Apparently
the timeanoids wish a place to live where there are less people and therefore
less possibilities for branches in the time stream, or something like that.
Sin also told the Court that a being who existed "outside of time" came
to Lacon and offered him free reign in the homeland of the Silver Sword
people if Lacon would give Warwick to the being. It is unknown what
answer, if any, Lacon gave to this being.
MAGIC MOMENTS
The mage Ashram came into Court this e'en, reporting that some twenty
people had been found murdered, their throats slit, in the Mages' Tower
over the weekend. They were all members of a group that was opposed
to Sir Mus remaining as High Druin, and their leader, a powerful mage named
Gideon, was found among the slain as well. |
