September 9th, O.P. XXIV
After a year-long hiatus, Joosee Roomers, the unofficial Court newsletter, is back.  Roomer has it that the responsibility of writing a Court newsletter may soon fall on some Official shoulders, but in the meantime, we here at the Roomer Mill are more than happy to pick up the slack.

And now, on to the Roomers!

THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN
The first Court of the season is always a lively time.  Companions returning from their travels abroad, a summer's worth of stories just waiting to be told....  Well, maybe not so much.

This week's Court, the first Court of the Saveign season, felt more like a Court of the Summer.  There was slightly more attendance than there had been over the aforementioned season, but other than that, things seemed pretty much as they had been over the summer.

At least the Air Conditioner worked.

I ALWAYS FEEL LIKE...SOMEBODY'S WATCHING ME
Over the summer, it was discovered that a group of peasants was following around various Companions and keeping tabs on their daily routines.  When a member of this group was brought into Court for questioning, he claimed that his group had been doing this for as long as the Court has existed, and that it is simply a harmless hobby of theirs.

Doubtful that the peasant's claim was the be-all and end-all of the matter, King Marduk set in motion an investigation.  The sherrif, Lord Dragonsbane, reported that he had discovered a schism within the group.  Apparently the new head of these "watchers," as well as a large influx of new members (and a couple of old ones) is far more fanatical about the gossip-gathering that are the rest of the group.  No further information is known at this time, except that the faction made up of more casual observers is getting very nervous as to what their new leader and his supporters are asking them to do.

His Majesty asks that all Companions refrain from hiring any new members of their household staff until this matter is dealt with.

A VIEW...
A strange, black-robed figure came to the Court this week, wishing merely to observe.  This observer bore a resemblence to the "messenger" which has visited the Court on a number of occassions, as well as lacking the ability to speak as Messenger did.  It was differentiated only by the strange light shining from where its forehead would be.  The light changed colors several times over the course of the evening, for reasons unknown.

It is good to know that in these times of insecurity, the Court boldly maintains its open-door policy with regards to visitors.

...TO A KILL
Sirrah Darth Olemew made a surprising accusation in Court this week.  He claimed that Magus Kao, Talisen of the Court of Light, disguised himself as an assassin and killed Damsel Zerlina, and tried to kill Sirrah Darth as well!  Magus Kao made no attempt to deny the claim, saying only that he was motivated by boredom.  Kao was quickly whisked off to the dungeons by Lord Dragonsbane and Sir Mudd, where he will remain until his trial next Court.
