GO EAST, YOUNG COMPANIONS
Sirrah Shadowclaw and Sirrah Vox returned to Court--and the lands--this
e'en after a lengthy absence from both. Shadowclaw related a vague
story about travelling to the east, where he was attacked by a dragon,
which he
then slew in self-defense. He refused to elaborate, choosing
instead to
weave a proper tale before telling it to the Court.
Vox, on the other hand, was all too happy to tell his story to the
assembled Companions. Vox had also returned from the east, and
he
entertained the Court with a long and incredibly vague tale of wars
started, taverns visited, flags dropped, bows misfired, many things
being
jarred loose in his head, and a very large man whose name started with
"G."
THE RESURRECTION WILL NOT BE TELEVISED
Lady Moira told the Court of how someone had dug up a corpse and
delivered it to her house in a cart with a note which read, "this is
Mordecaii. Please bring him back." As Sir Mordecaii's body
was burnt to ashes*, it was impossible that the body could have been his.
Presuming that the author of the note meant for her to raise the body from
the dead, Moira chose not to do so. Locating a violated cairn somewhere
in the lands, Moira arranged for the body to be returned to its grave and
asked His Eminence to re-consecrate the burial site.
MORE MICHAEL REQUIREMENTS
As part of his quest for the first level of Sacred Michael, Sir Aeric
read an account of the Battle of Hattin, one of the bloodiest battles
in
the Crusades. He also had his sword, Redeemer, bound to him through
consecration as the Court looked on.
PROPERTY VALUES
Lord Dragonsbane cleared up the question of ownership with regards
to the missing wargolem by saying that it was left to him by Mordecaii
in his
will. The queen asked that Lord Dragonsbane surrender the golem
to the
regency as a whole, and to allow the golem to be bound magically to
all
the regents so that no one Companion could control it. Lord Dragonsbane
was resistant to the idea of giving up his personal property, and Sir Aeric
suggested that the mistrust of fellow Companions that begun the whole mess
with Mordecaii and his school should end by the queen trusting
Lord Dragonsbane with possession of the wargolem. No decision
on the
matter was reached, which is just as well for the wargolem is still
at
large.
Lord Dragonsbane also gave the Hold of Gaul to Ohmylahrd F-f-f-fritz.
HE MAKES QUESTS *AND* SPIFFY DOUBLETS!
In the suprise of the season, the Pendragon itself made an appearance
in
Court this e'en. Well, sort of...the dragon was far too big to
actually
fit through the Courtroom door, so it was only able to extend one massive
red-and-gold scaled claw into the room. From the hallway beyond,
the
Pendragon issued personal quests to Sir Ender, Sir Aeric, Queen Flidais,
Duke Lorath, and Lady Moira.
A TWO-DIMENSIONAL CHARACTER
The Court was visited again by the enigmatic and annoying Galavantis
this
e'en, who informed the Court that he was taking people, 200 at a time,
from the Eleven Lands and spiriting them away to his world/dimension,
wherever that might be. As usual, no straight answers were forthcoming
from Galavantis, although he was far more lucid (not to mention calm)
this week than he was the week before.
EXCHANGE STUDENT SPEAKS
One of the missing students from the Wilderland school came into Court
at the request of Lord Dragonsbane, with a possible peace offering for
the
Companions. He informed the Court that the people that Galavantis
was
taking from the Lands were being replaced by people from his world/dimension.
ANOTHER FINE MUS
Earl Mus gave up the thaneship of Clan McQuillon this e'en, stating
that
he could not hold the position and do what he had to do at the same
time. Rather than name a successor, he left it up to the clan at
large to choose a new thane. He also returned the Earldom of Barden
to the clan to do with as they saw fit. He then left the Court for
the e'en.
DYER NEWS FROM BARDEN
Shortly after Mus' departure from Court, a letter arrived for Sir Aeric.
After reading it, he reported to the Companions that Mus' body had
been
found dead in Barden two days prior to that e'en. The letter,
which was
from a guardsman in Barden, stated that no visible wounds could be
found on the Earl's body, and that the body did not seem to be decomposing.
Also of note was a strange black pool of slimy goo found not ten yards
from the body. Queen Flidais sent Lord Dragonsbane and Lady Moira
to
investigate the matter; Sir Aeric offered to go as well.

That's all for this week, Companions! Join us next time for another
exciting installment of JOOSEE ROOMERS!!
*Sir Mordecaii's mortal remains were not cremated, but in fact were
buried in a clearly-marked grave in Glastonbury. Why the majority
of the Companions believed they were cremated is unknown. |
