| ROYAL TRAGEDY King Mordecaii confirmed the report that his son, the Prince, had been killed by the White Lady and her cohorts, and that His Majesty did indeed mete justice out to them with Xirlyndrae (the Court Sword) on the spot. The King's two daughters remain alive and well. MORE VAMPIRE TROUBLES Sir Marduk reported a new development in the rash of ritualistic vampire slayings in the lands as of late. He discovered a burning house in the Wilderland with 10-15 vampires trapped "alive" inside. He was able to rescue the creatures, and upon questioning them later, discovered that they had been captured by three men wearing masks who used a strange ring to generate a bright light which knocked them unconscious. With the creation of a new group of vampire specialists now operating in the Wilderland, hopes are that this chaos and destruction can end soon. In a related story, four whores were found mauled to death in Lankhmar this weekend; eyewitnesses report a vampire fleeing the scene. This is especially noteworthy because Sirrah Nazgul has not been heard from recently, and he is known to draw his sustenence from willing donors in such establishments there. PETER-ENDER MYSTERY POSSIBLY SOLVED The Timeanoid Meerd visited the Court this week, where it was revealed that Sin, also a Timeanoid, had possession of Meerd's "Time Gauntlet" for a period following his removal of Sir Ender's painful experiences, and that it was quite possible that the latter was responsible for the creation of Peter. When he appeared in Court shortly thereafter on His Majesty's request, Sin offered the theory that Peter was created as a way to fill the gap left by the removal of Sir Ender as Grand Knight of the Court. Sin offered to rectify the situation if Sir Ender and Sir Peter were brought to him at the same time, something which the King promised would happen next Thursday at Court. APOCALYPSE PROPHET FOUND The leader of the so-called heretic cult that was recently wiped out by a mysterious Grey Cloud south of Warwick appeared in Court this e'en. The Prophet apologized for his followers' interpretation of his visions, which he claimed are sent to him by Eld Magnil Himself, and insisted that he never specified the Companions as being the harbingers of the Apocalypse. He did warn of a "great danger" approaching the Eleven Lands, however, as well as an awareness of the same Cloud which wiped out his flock coming for him now. At the direct request of His Majesty, the Prophet remains under the protection of the Court wards in the Citadel, under careful watch by the Duke's personal guard. KING'S CHAMPION CHOSEN Although it was not announced with the usual fanfare of such an appointment, it was revealed in Court this week that Sir Lorath is now the Champion of King Mordecaii. This is the second year in a row that the positions of Sheriff and Sovereign's Champion have been held by the same individual. |
