NAA, IT'S CURTAINS FOR THE COURT, SEE?
This week was the unveiling of the "page curtain" as promised by Sirrah
Farqhuar and delivered by Abernathia (and friends?). It's big, it's
black, and it's kind of hard to get through, but it's really cool and it
does an excellent job of hiding what goes on in the antechamber.
Kudos to Ambernathia and anyone else who helped on it.
FANGORN WHO?
The Companion Formerly Known As Fangorn appeared in Court for the first
time since his "accident" two weeks ago. There was no sign of rememberance
or recognition in his eyes or actions. Emotions were mixed, especially
when the king read a letter given to him by Fangorn's parents, which was
apparently left for them in explanation of why he "did it." According
to the letter, he saw a need for the single-minded determinism of the Crimson
Avenger in face of the looming dark times, and sought to reattain that
state by recreating the "Loss of Fangorn" incident. Some were sympathetic
while others saw it as a cop-out, a cowardly attempt to shrug off his many
responsibilities. The local druins, especially Cubayar Moira and
her Eminence Ambernathia, are hard at work trying to return Fangorn's memory
to him. We wish them all good luck.
BEST $20 I EVER SPENT
Tonight was the night of the Third Eye page class's fundraiser, which
took the form of an auction. Many things (and squires) were up for
sale, and in the end the Third Eye raked in over 100 peasant marks.
Congratulations, Third Eye!
BODY DOUBLE TROUBLE
Some disturbing news was brought into Court by the Pages in Black,
Most Honored Marduk and Lady Lauralansa concerning Paladin Galchauren.
Some three weeks ago, Sir Lucerne challenged the talisen to a duel, for
he believed the swords Galchauren carried were the same swords used by
the man who led the destruction of his homeland not so long ago.
A tale was told of sorcery and swordplay, and Sir Aeric revealed both the
fact that Galchauren was a demon and that he had some power over such creatures,
having studied magic in Lyonesse some years ago. Finally, Lady Lauralansa
revealed a letter she had recently received from Galchauren, which stated
that he was in fact in Aquitania, seeking out a cure for Mollari's now-long-past
human form. No sooner was the tale told, however, then did the REAL
Galchauren return, ignorant of any doings by his impostor.
As a result of this encounter, and the fact that a demon was able to
sit in the Court of Light and fool the Companions for so long, several
steps are being taken to investigate the matter:
1) Small teams of guards, each accompanied by a druin, are scouring
the lands in search of the demon;
2) Military preparedness is being increased in the northern provinces,
especially Ahrothen, for if Lucerne's apprehension proves true, the bane
of his homeland just may be sweeping its way south any day now; and
3) Panthra, who took custody of the swords the Evil Galchauren used,
is travelling to her homeland where she hid them, so that the High Druin
can examine them in hopes of learning something about the fiend.
Hopefully the demon sought only to make mischief and was not the advance
scout of an evil army. We can only hope and pray....
Well, that's all for this week, True Believers! Keep watching
the skies! |
